Question I need to replace my keyboard, the number ZERO is broke

    Hey all,

I just bought a 650 from a friend, come to find out, the 0 (zero) button doesnt work when entering numbers from the key pad, I have to resort to using the on-screen keypad to enter the number zero.

Any information on whether I need to replace the internal keyboard thing?
Where do I get factory parts for it?
Finally, who can I trust to perform the repair and expected costs?

    Thanks for any help.

    Some friend!

I can't imagine that repairing the keyboard will be worth the effort unless you happen upon another 650 that you can use for parts (find someone with a busted screen). Still, you'll need to find someone to do the work; do you know anyone that tinkers with electronics? I don't know what it would cost to repair the thing, but if they bill you for an hour, you have to figure it is going to cost as much as the phone is worth (that is, if they charge as much as my plumber)

Is the button stuck? You can spray compressed air around the keyboard or see if something is stuck under the key. Might even try contact cleaner. Have the battery out of the treo.

There are part suppliers on line and you can probably fix it yourself if it isn't insured or under warranty.

    Some friend you have there.

    Thanks plunker,

Didn't think of that. I'll give it a try.
