As far as i know, the treo 650 doesn't read 4 GB. The most it reads 2 GB.

You can use a 4gig card in the 650, but you need a custom ROM to do so. The 650 doesn't support 4gig cards natively.

Really so I can still buy the 4GB Hi-Speed card where can I get the custom ROM. How do I install the custom ROM? Can you show me how I am going to get my Treo 650 on Monday.

A lot of people have gotten them from Shadowmite, a Treo expert. You can check out his website here.

Keep in mind that it is possible to turn your Treo into a very expensive paperweight if you mess up with the custom ROM process. If you're just starting out with Treos and Palm OS, then you may want to hold off, and go with a 2GB card for now.

    Hi fubarms:

I believe that the high speed cards in a 650 really don't make a difference and might be overkill. If it costs more you might be spending extra for no good reason.

However, I do believe you should check out the cautionary tale posted by kabeyun regarding counterfeit cards out there. You will find it here:

    Good luck,

Steve is right here. I have a standard SandDisk "blue" card and it works fine. I can play video in TCPMP with no skipping.
