Is there any way to install a IM on my treo 650

Sure, not a problem at all. There are bunches of them available for the Palm OS, some good and some not so good. I have tried the AIM release from AOL (the free one) and it works, though not in the background. I have tried IM+ and Toccer and purchased Mundu 3 and gosh, Mundu 4 is out, tried it but did not upgrade to v4.
As a note, with the memory constraints the 650 series has, one needs to consider if the convenience is worth the space and the same goes for battery life.

No, strictly AIM. You are better off with another application. Ben
