    Default Incomplete/partial synch with Outlook?

    Hello there,
Great to find an active board that seems to have good advice for Treo users.

I've got a Treo 650 (Verizon) that I synch via cradle with Outlook 2002 running on a Dell laptop. I've had Palm devices going back to the IIIe days and have been synching them with Outllook for nearly as long. Recently "upgraded" from my Kyocera 7135 workhorse and all has been well... or so I thought...

I've started to notice that not all of my contacts or calendar events are synching reliably back and forth between my Outlook and Treo... some do, some don't... no synch log error messages... all appears normal until I notice that either a contact isn't in the phone, or in Outlook, or that an event hasn't made it from one to the other (or a deleted event still appears on the other device).

I've set the synch to Synchronize the files, and (under settings) for Conflict Resolution tried Duplicate and Ignore... eventually I'll choose to have one overwrite the other to make sure they are in synch (of course I'm never sure that I've captured everything).

This is making me nuts, since it pretty much makes the tool useless -- if I can't reliably count on having the latest and complete calendar and contacts in my device then it's really just a big phone.

Anyone have similar experiences? I've searched the forums and haven't found exactly my problem.

    Thanks!

    Default

I have not upgraded from another palm device but have read here that doing that can cause problems. I believe the fix is to copy your data base from your old device (or maybe the new one if its complete) and save it somewhere, then install or delete and reinstall the new palm software then copy your data into the new software.

The old software can conflict with the new software.

Contacts can be stored in different folders. Make sure you select all at the top of your screen to see if they are all there.
