Individual Ringtones w/ Mini Tones

Hi, I too am having an issue with assigning individual ringtones versus 'known caller' ringtones. I have been searching various forums to find answers to this, several posts on it but so far no viable solution. My files are recognized by miniTones, and are easily edited. One post I read somewhere said to keep the file less than 64 KB - this is a very short clip, but was able to do it by making sure that the original .mp3 that I moved over was type CBR and converted to bitrate of 64 kbps. Needless to say all that and the clip still would not play when assigned to a specific contact. I too am 'assigning' the ringtone using the 'edit favorites buttons' for my contact. The standard ringtones that came with the phone all play fine when I assign this way, but the new miniTones will not. The miniTones do play when you check them in 'manage' and they will play if just assigned to "known callers". What is going on - it is maddening the amount of time I've wasted thinking I could do a "simple" ringtone addition to this phone!

Help Please,

I just picked up a centro,downloaded mini-tones,put music on my 2gb card. All the mp3's are in the music folder of my card. When I access minitones there is nothing there. Am I doing something wrong or something? Please Help! Im not worried about individual ringtones I just dont like the tones that came on the phone.

Try installing the tones on the treo and maybe minitones can find them...I have never had a problem with minitones

Did you have to install tone to treo? if you did you can delete it fter the tone is moved into your ringtones

no lol I just said forget it and had my buddy send them to me in messages and just saved them that way.
