Individual Ringtones w/ Mini Tones

I am trying to have individual ringtones for different people. This is my setup so far.

I convert my mp3s to short clips and transfer them to my 650.
I then use Mini Tones to convert them to be used as ringtones.
I then assign a speed dial for a contact and assign one of these newly created ringtones.
When a call is received from one of these contacts it just defaults to my known caller ringtone.
When I use a ringtone that is not created by Mini Tones the individual ringtone works just fine, but any that are created by Mini Tones don't seem to work.

Is there any workaround for this?

BTW I've tried mRinger and it just doesn't seem to work right and the price of Ringo Pro just drove me away.

I have searched the 650 forum pretty extensively and have yet to find a solution that works in my situation. I'm not one to just post w/o searching a forum. My basic problem is that the files that are added via Mini Tones cannot be used as individual ringtones under my favorite speed dials. When I use a built in ringtone these individual ringtones work just great, but when I select one of the ringtones that have been added to my ringtone database via Mini Tones the individual ringtones do not play instead the regular known caller ringtone (which happens to be one I added via Mini Tones) plays instead. I have tested not only mp3s but also wav files and still have the same problem.

The only ringtones I use on my cng treo are the stock ones and I have distinctive ringtones for my family and some of my boy scout buddies and a few of my long time clients. The situation you describe seems kind strange but maybe minitones puts them in a separate datebase somehow which the palm isnot finding or its timing out looking for it and defaults back to the known caller ring ? Just thinking on line ill keep thinking and may be somebody else will come up something of help. Keep us posted.

Our your tones mp3s or mp4s?? I think the treo will work on one and not the other. I have the same setup as you do and mine work. I will check this afternoon to see exacting what format the tones are in.

I tried them as both mp3 and wav files. I did not try mp4 yet.

mp3 will work or does on mine. The clips I believe need to be less than 30 secs.

You mentioned assigning a contact a speed dial and assigning a tone. You do mean a favorite key (blue keys under phone screen.)

Hey guys im having the exact same problem with mine, I used minitones as well and it also defaults to the known caller tone, which plays the mp3 ringtones I installed with minitones just fine, just not on the caller ID.
