Default Infared Port Cover

I dropped my phone and the infrared (IR) port cover broke off.
Wondering if I should just use a few drops of glue to put it back on or should I send it for repair?

Do you ever need to remove this cover for any reason?
The posts attachments are actually in the phone so I cannot "snap" it into place.

I would try and send something to another treo to see if it works. I don't really use this feature. tried it once and it did not connect. If you don't use it or if it does not work I would glue it. If it works besure you do not get glue where the beam is sent through the broken lens.

thanks for your reply. I feel so silly. I took it to the Verizon shop see if beaming would work (I have never used it) and the guy tells me that what I broke off was the cover on the speaker not the infrared port cover. DOH!

He asked me was I hearing sound ok when it rings or when I talk and I am.
So he said funtionally it is fine. he says I just need to make sure nothing gets in there.

So now I ask the question again ....I should just use a few drops of glue to put it back on or should I send it for repair?
