I hope I can help. When I downloaded software to my ps and ran the exe. file it set itself up in palm desktop to install. I think if you run the program then check your quick install palm desktop the program should be there to sync. If you do not have enough room on the treo copy or move those files to the install on card area. The sync should have you in business.

I don't think pTunes plays nice when run from an SD card. It probably has to do with the fact that it can run in the background.

If it sounds like he needs a program like filez to move stuff to his card so he can install ptunes on the treo. Is ptunes slow loading on the card or why is it better on the treo?

Are you running a 3rd party launcher that allows you to place the applications on the card, load them to memory, launches the app and then moves it all back to the SD card? Such a launcher (and there are bunches) goes a long way toward freeing up memory. There are two that also work with multiple creator IDs, one of those being ZLauncher (the big guy on the block).
pTunes is capable of running in the background, hence it wants to be in main memory. If the app works with alarms, runs unattended, checks the mail on a schedule, plays push email, et cetera, it wants to be in main memory.
