Default Is it better to purchase directly from Palm or eBay?

As the topic states..I was wondering which method would be easier for returns and such..Being such an expensive item, I like warantees/no bs when returning a defective item. Or would the ones listed on eBay be covered as well? Thanks.

That depends on whether you mean a used one or a new one sold through a wireless reseller?

A new one, unlocked, so I can use it w/ my current plan w/ Tmobile. I just don't know what are the exclusions on the warantee if I don't purchase it from a licensed reseller w/o buying a new plan.

    Default It Depends

I just purchased a T-650, unlocked cingular on ebay. I'm using T-mobile. It was a clean transaction with warrantee and a reasonable price. You have to read the fine print on ebay and ask the seller questions AND review the seller’s feedback.

I learned a lot from this forum regarding the Treo 650.

Just be a smart skeptical shopper and you probably won't be taken.

    Hi,

    Short answer, Palm.

Buying from ebay might be fine if its new, unregistered and being sold by an authorized dealer.

If you buy direct from Palm you'll get the newest unit, have no questions or hassles about the origin of the unit; whether it was a returned item, previously registered, warranty coverage, etc. Plus, you'll be able to deal direct with Palm if there are any problems, etc. and they should have plently so they can send you a replacement.

Even with some major carriers you have to deal with the place you got the unit as opposed to Palm direct. One more level to go through and the possibility of the unit being out of stock, etc.

Also, I think if you buy direct from Palm you're eligible for an extended warranty. Not sure on that one though.

    Good luck!
Typos are there for those that look for them. I try to do something for everybody.

i bought mine for sprint from ebay last week and i havent had any problems with it. It also came with a couple of extras: extra chargers and cradle, one pouch thing, screen protector, extra battery and preloaded games. I bought it for 400 altogether, not that bad imo
