Default is it possible to unlock a sprint treo 650?

I have a treo 650 from sprint that i have had for about 6 months. realizing that i really am a pocket pc person i got one of the ppc 6700 on ebay new from a sprint retailer for free. No gimmicks whatsoever. I just agreed to add a new line of service. Now i have this treo 650 with my number on it. I was going to call sprint and say i lost it so my number can be put on hold then transfer that number over to the ppc 6700 in a few months. The resale value of the treo would be greatly enhanced if i had it unlocked. Is there a way to clear the esn? What are my options/ It currently listed on ebay with clear information that the esn is not clear.

To my knowledge, Sprint phones only work on the Sprint network. You cannot use them whatsoever on a different network.

So, rather than unlock it, you're looking to clear the ESN. Unlocking is allowing GSM phones to be used on another network besides their host network. To clear the ESN, your options are to close out that line (not what you want to do, I'm sure) or transfer your # to a temporary phone (say an old Sprint phone hanging out in one of your drawers or in a closet). That would clear the 650's ESN and enable a buyer to activate it. Otherwise, I can't see you getting many bids.

Today must be the day for this. Saw on another board where someone was doing the same thing.

Yep, and then someone will be clear to activate the 650.
