Issues with Treo 650 Trickle Charge Via USB
Hello,
I've been using my Treo 650 for a few months now. I usually charge the battery via the USB sync cable. A few days ago, I used the wall charger instead of the USB cable and fully charged my Treo. Since then, I can't charge my Treo with the USB cable anymore, but I can still perform HotSyncs.
I have attempted to plug in the USB cable into a different USB port. I have also attempted to reset my Treo.
Has anyone ever experienced this issue? Any suggestions on how I could resolve it?
Thanks
Mario

Is it the same cable you have been using?? My 650 would not charge with the cable it came with but would charge with my 755p cable.....

Yes, this is the same cable I was using previously. It was working last week.

Tried it even before my original post and it didn't work.
I'm quite puzzled. I suppose there isn't a setting the enables/disables the trickle charge from the USB?

The voltage at the USB point is often times not enough to adequately charge the device, especially on older laptops.
Adequate charging means a source that has the amps behind it to handle the battery.

I'm using the same laptop as before. Basically, nothing has changed with my charging process, except that I used a wall charger once instead of consistently charging my Treo with the USB cable.

USB ports sometimes go bad and/or need resetting and cables sometimes wear out. If the cable is tight and the connections are good, then you may be stuck with a regular charger.

Do you mean I'll be stuck using the wall charger and I will no longer be able to charge via USB?

Not at all, just that there appears to be a problem with the power source that may require surgery. As I stated, ports do go bad (my last Toshiba had 1 USB port that was sick), they get dirty, dusty, et cetera. I use a USB expansion port and it handles most items, some though require a direct connection to the computer.
