Default Java Support on Treo 650

Hi,
Does anyone know if Treo supports Java applications.
I checked the Java Devices on Suns website but did not find the Treo 650 listed there. However on the Plam website they say theres some virtual machine from IBM which we need to install on Treo 650.
Is that free and will that fully support writing Java apps.

There are some phones which support J2ME.Not sure whats the deal on Treo 650.

Would appreciate if anybody can let me know.

Thanks!

If you saw that noitce, then you should ahve seen that the 650 is supported; you just dont have to pay for it as you would with some older models.

Basically its a like J2ME client. There are some who have said that they have use for Java on PalmOS devices, but really, other than KMaps, I dont really see it (lest you need a verticle app). To be also true, Java on the web does not always (very very rarely) translate to Java that a phone can do - Java's just to resource hungry.

Default Java...

The IBM Web Sphere is Java J2ME. I am not sure how good it is, but I will be playing around with it. I posted another location wondering what kind of applications whould be good to have from java... so that I could think about a project to work on as I was learning to program in java... anyway. Will post more regarding Java and Palm.

But, yes, JAVA can be resource hungry!!! This is my first palm device, so I don't know much yet.
