Well, the day has finally arrived! After getting back from South Africa i accidentally knocked my Nextel phone to the ground off the kitchen counter, shattering the already broken phone to pieces, forcing me to move quicky and snatch up the only Treo 650 in a store in Tallahassee, which now is sitting in my house. Of course, my wife thinks i picked up the phone and threw it to the ground so i would have the excuse (I didn't, but not a bad plan...). If anyone has any initial startup tips, bring them on!

DO NOT, put AOL AIM on your treo 650, this will cause your 650 to lock up. This would have been helpfull to know when I first got my 650.

well, the biggest problem i've found is that there is now a massive data outage for cingular over nearly the entire eastern seaboard...so i got that going for me, which is nice...

i found out that i was registered for thr old unlimited PDA connect plan and not the one with the EDGE access, so i got switched over to the EDGE plan (same price, some people are signing up customers accidentally for the wrong plan) but haven't been able to enjoy it because of the massive outage.

not like i wanted to be able to access email and the internet with my phone or anything...

Yeah as bad as sprint is, and trust me they are bad (customer service wise), I still say they are the better option at the moment for the service. Haven't heard a good thing about cingular yet.

Congrats on the new arrival.....Did you name it yet?

There are a slew of combinations of programs that will cause soft resets.....

Almsot daily they are updating apps to be more compatible. When I first got mine i made the mistake of installing around 15 apps all at once and had no idea which one was the culprit of my resets.

If I were to do it over again I would take the extra time to install one at a time and then test.

I had to uninstall and reinstall all day long for about 10 hours to find the exact one that was causing conflict. Get yourself a good case and screen protector....

Then its all easy street ....sit back relax and have some fun! I would find a launcher you like and a web browser first off. Then any neccessary apps for your work or intended uses.

I have xiino and zlauncher.....but am thinking of changing to launcherX.

Most "good" apps have trial versions so you aren't out ny money on apps you decide you don't like.....

well, other than syracuse and kansas losing to destroy my brackets, life is good in treoland. cingular's network is back up and here can be the first good thing you hear about them: the EDGE network is AWESOME. pages load instantly. I am actually using the treo to post this. so blazer us not the only browser I can use? i'll have ro check those out when I get home. this is the first time i've left home in a while without my laptop. i've alredy got mt boss on one, other friends are following quickly...wife getting mad have to go!
