If your Treo is brand new, it shouldn't need a reset. Charge it up and take it for a test drive.

Congrats on your new Treo and finding your way to Everything Treo!

After your getting to know your Treo, here are a few threads with cool things you can do with a Treo from watching DVD Movies to a robust MP3 player. You'd be amazed and probably will be...

If you have questions, just ask. Enjoy your stay and good luck with the new toy!

-Chris

Congrats! I got mine this past Friday, and didn't do much of anything else this weekend.

While I'm waiting for my case to arrive (from the everythingtreo store), it's a matter of figuring out what all it can do. (Which is a lot!)

Cool, so I'm not the only one. The weekend I got my Treo, I drove my gf crazy showing off what it could do.

Default New to Treo too

I have had my Treo for almost two weeks now. I have played with it but I haven't purchased anything yet. It's a little more overwhelming than I thought it would be.

I have lived on everything treo since mine arrived. I am scared to death that I will mess something up...

Everyone here has been great about answering all my dumb questions.

Thank you everybody

That's a good plan, especially if you haven't had a Palm OS device before. Get a feel for what the Treo can do out of the box first, then figure out what else you want it to do, and start adding software and accessories.

Which leads me to a question ...

(No, I don't mind reading, just haven't found the information I am looking for yet.)

Let's just say something happens, and the easiest thing is to start over. How hard is this to do? One would assume that a reset (by whatever phrase you want to use) would restore it to factory condition. Is it then a matter of doing a hotsync restore the data?

Typically, if you need to do a hard reset (which restores the Treo back to its "out of the box" state, it's due to software. You would then rename your user folder (this way you can keep your user name by just creating it as a "new" user during your first HotSync), and try out apps one at a time until you determine which one is causing the issue.
