Question Just ordered my 650 - question on SD expansion cards

I just picked up a new Treo 650 from VZW. It will be here in a couple of days and I want to make sure I have what I need to get the most from it from the start. Reagrding Secure Digital cards - is there any benefit from using "high-speed" versions of these versus the regular speed SD cards. I know in my digital camera it makes a huge difference in terms of response time. Does the same hold true for the Treos? If there is no benefit, I would rather purchase the regular speed cards, save some money, and possible get more space.

Also, just how much space do you all recommend - 1GB or 2GB? I know it varies based on use, but I have some very large contact and calendar databass I want to keep using and I figure at least 1GB and why not 2GB to meet future demands for auxillary files.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

The high speed cards offer marginal increases as they are basically best for cameras and other devices not named PDAs that do high MB transfers/reads/writes.

Concerning your calendar/contacts database, the internal memory of the 650 will be more than enough to handle your items. If you will you can fit about 8000 contacts and dates easily within 8MB of space, you have more than 8MB of space, and you will be just fine.

The 2GB SD should work (will register as having 1.57GB-ish though due to sectors adn formatting issues) and you will find that easily meeting your needs.

I just bought a sandisc ultra 2 gb. they just came down in price. check around, price is about $100 or less even. it registers 1.8 gb when inserted for thefirst time. it is fast and good if you want to store lots of video clips or songs, etc. or movies to play with tcpmp.
