Default Key press registers the wrong value

So I've tried searching the forums for a possible solution to this problem I'm having to no avail. I got my Treo 650 about 3 months ago and aside from the keyboard problems I'm having, I love my Treo. Initially, I dropped my phone from a few feet off the floor and the keyboard stopped working on me. OK, that's my fault, the keyboard is sensitive like that. After much turmoil, I finally buckled down and spent $60 getting a new keyboard installed in January from a local shop. I was ecstatic. A couple of days ago the "R" key stopped working (unless I jiggled it a bit and pressed really hard on it) along with the nav-keys and the center select button. They all acted the same way: I had to press really hard on it to get it to work. So today I took it back to the same place and they were nice enough to replace it with another keyboard free of charge since it had been a little over a month. Mind you, this thing has not fallen anywhere since then. It worked fine after they replaced the keyboard again and now, only a few hours later...

...whenever I press the "Home" button to get back to the main screen, it registers it as the "V" key instead. So, when I try to go to the home screen from the phone screen, it starts coming up as 9s...this is very odd. I've performed a hard reset (I haven't been able to update the ROM since I've been having other problems installing that) in order to break it from a reset loop that it was entering during the ROM updating process (and I got the message of "Cannot find operation application". And when I try to follow the instructions here, all I get is an error message on my computer about denied access. It's very frustrating. I'm going to take it back later this week when I have time to tell the people the problem I'm now experiencing to see if they can do something with it (and maybe update the ROM in the process if they'll do that for me since I can't seem to get it to work), but in the meanwhile, I didn't know of anywhere else to turn but these forums...

It sounds like you may have more troubles than your key board from your drop. Maybe a cracked circuit board or the connection your keyboard plugs into. I have no experience with a palm, but it sounds like other stuff in your phone needs to be checked out.

This happened to me recently when I got what I think is humidity damage to my phone. I was hiking in a high-humidity area when I noticed that the keyboard stopped working when I tried to dial out. The touchscreen and everything worked fine. After a while, they keyboard started working again, but none of the values matched the keys that were pushed. Finally, it worked after a while. But the center D-pad button has been giving me a little trouble. I have to push hard for it to work.

Now I can't turn on the phone with any of the main buttons. I have to either soft reset, insert the SIM card, or insert the SD card. After the phone is on, everything works just fine. Freaken weird.

I'm waiting until I get back to the 'States to flash the ROM. Do tell what you or the store finds in the meantime. I'm curious.
