keypad lights?

I find its very hard to text when its dark and the keypad lights dont light up. Is there anyway to get them to stay on? Thanks:cool:

my understanding is that the keyboard lights up by default. have you had the device long? or installed apps that allow dimming? i know Treo Off/On amongst others has that option. try a reset.

i just got the phone off ebay...and the only apps that i can think of that might affect it are LEDoff or volumecare? i guess ill just try a reset unless you know what is wrong...

UPDATE!!! this is weird.......

first let me just say what happens when u turn the phone on: the "palm one" screen comes up first, with the keypad light lit. then the "palm powered" screen comes up, and the keypad light turns off. it then comes on for a split second again before the main screen comes on but quickly turns off.

back to the really weird part: i tried doing a warm restart where u hold the up button for the whole startup... and it this time it actually looked like it was working!!! the keys were on the whole time, even still when the main screen came up!! it was beautiful!!! but the phone would only stay in "no call" (phone off) mode and would not let me connect to my network!! i would try to place a call, and usually where it would say " would you like to connect to your network?" i would hit yes..the screen would turn blank for a second then poof...right back to the main screen and phone off still. i tried the warm reset a few more times and the same thing everytime. so i just took the battery off and put it back on ,and im left with a phone where the keypad doesnt lite up PLEASE HELP!!!

hard reset i'm afraid, then reload apps one at a time- clearly there is a conflict somewhere
