Treo 650 I got gunk in the hole that takes my hot sync connector at the base of my phone. I cleaned it but am stuck on the 'connecting with the desktop using cradle/cable' function.
I have tried taking out the battery and restarting several times it just keeps going back to that function...HELP???

Hi:
I am not sure what you used to clean it. Did you try contact cleaner? If you plugged the cord into the Treo connector, which you must have to get the message, you should also use the contact cleaner on the cord connector as well.
If it still doesn't work, be sure to use compressed air in case you got a piece of cotton or something stuck to a connector tip and it is breaking contact.
Last ditched effort to me would be to try a hard reset, but if you don't have a back-up you will lose everything. This is also usually a fix more for software errors, but who knows.
Keep us posted on your progress.

hi Steve, Nup even hard reset so I guess it's definitely something stuck in the pipe somewhere...
Will try blowing it and cleaning the plug in
thanks
