locked treo

Hi,
I have a chance to pick up a treo 650 on the verizon network. The previous owner locked the phone to where you can't get on the phone without entering a password. Is there a way of bypassing this? Can I do a hard reset and start out new?

Yes, you can do a hard reset and this returns the 650 to the original factory settings. It deletes any 3rd part applications. Make sure he gives you the desktop install CD. With this, you will be able to sync the Treo to your PC under your own user ID.
(If he doesn't, you can download the desktop install from Palm.com)
