lost contacts
Before Hotsync I had 50 contacts on my phone and 200 contacts on my laptop. Today when performing Hotsync which inadvertantly was set as "phone override PC" , I lost 150 contacts from my laptop. In short, the hotsync operation copied all the phone contacts to the laptop.
Can anyone please suggest as to how I can retrieve all the lost contacts?
Thanks in advance.

Unless you have a backup of your desktop app, there is no way to retrieve them.

I've had something like that happen to me before except with my ipod and it over rided all of my songs you just have to manually get them all.

A couple of ideas, but they're hail Mary passes.
1. If you did not have the backup conduit enabled when you overrode your laptop contacts, try to setting the backup conduit to "restore from backup" and hot syncing that conduit only.
2. If you backed up your Treo to a card, you can, depending on the application you used, selectively restore the following teo files: AddressDB and ContactsDB-PAdd.
3. If you're using Windows XP, use the System Restore function to roll back the state of your laptop to a point before your ruinous hot sync.
4. Take the laptop and turn it upside down. Then take a carrot, clice it in half and rub the cut end of the larger half on the battery or battery cover. Let dry. Then find a pure white chicken and feed it the other half of the carrot. Sacrifice the chicken. Rub two drops of chicken blood over the now-dry carrot juice on the battery. Let dry. Fricassee the chicken with sun dried tomatoes and plenty of hand-churned butter. Eat the left drumstick and the right thigh no less than two feet away from the computer, chanting "Owa Tagoo Siam" between swallows. Turn the laptop right side up again. Lean your face in close and gently close the screen on your nose. Restart the computer. Your contacts will be restored. If not, at least you've had an interesting experience and have eaten a good meal.
