Lost in hotsync process
Everytime I hotsync I have to re-enter registration numbers for many third party applications that are installed on my Treo 650. I suspect that for those on the SD card, I can retain the info just by taking out the card prior to hotsyncing. Funny thing, though, after laborously entering several favorites on my phone app, they disappear after a hotsync too. Is there something amiss with my settings, or ??? Would be grateful for advice. Thanks!

What are your conduit settings?

conduit settings
Primarily "sychronize the files." I also hotsynced without the SD card in the phone; same results -- had to reenter all the registration codes, even though most of the apps were on the card. I'm going to try "phone overrides PC" and see what happens. Still a puzzle.

That was going to be my suggestion as well, particularly with the Backup conduit. How'd it work?

I had been having trouble getting Splash ID data to sychronize too -- entries on the PC didn't transfer to the Treo. That finally did happen when I switched its conduit to "phone overrides PC," but had no effect on the third party software. Since the Treo resets itself after each hotsync, is there really any way to avoid having to re-enter registrations codes?
Since I haven't had the time to reenter favorites on the phone application, I don't know if changing that conduit to "phone overrides PC" will fix that problem, but I'm going to try that too.

If the phone is resetting after every hotsync, shouldn't you be trying to resolve that? Maybe that is part of the data loss you are experiencing. It is not normal for a reset after every hotsync.
Maybe a hard reset and then an install of each third party software separately and a hotsync to track down the reset culprit could help to identify what is going on?
Just a thought....

Hello cjh43,
SteveTaz is right, it might be a good idea to find out why it's resetting after each hotsync. So it could be helpful to check the error log after the reset. Check the Palm Knowledge Library article Find out if your Treo 650 or 600 reset itself (and the error code it recorded). Dial the number that pertains to your particular carrier and see what the error log says.
