Default Memory Card Security

Hello all, I'm finally investigating something I shouldn't delay any longer:

I have a 256mb memory card in use/inserted on my Sprint Treo 650. I have some data on it, mostly pix that I would like to surround with security, ie password protect. However, this raises some questions:

How would I issue/use a password for the card? (I already have security / password protection for my 650 unit).

If I ever want to review the pix on the card, say through the camera / pics & video function through the unit, would I have to supply the password for every pic viewed? Or just when I switch to the card's data?

If someone obtains (for example - steals) the card from my unit, will the password carry with the card? Or could anyone obtain my card, insert it into their treo and access/see all my data?

I might be forgetting other pertinent issues but this is it for now. Feel free to add relevant info.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

The Treo only supports the FAT file system for SD cards (and FAT32 with a ROM hack). Neither of these support file-level security.

On your SD card, there is a little button, move it to lock. From that point NO DATA on the card will be able to be maniulated. Other than that, you would be best to look for some other kind of software solution, there is currently none of that sort on the PalmOS.
