Default missed calls how do you know?

Since my phone has such poor signal strenght inside buildings, I do not recieve most calls during the day. Every phone I have ever had would list missed calls when you recieved a signal again. This phone does not, or cant. I have performed all of the updates that have addressed some of the similar issues with voice mail. If when out of rangeand someone leaves me a message the only way I know I have voicemail i to call in listen to messsages or not, then when I hang up minutes latter it will alert me to new messages, the ones I just listened too. Plus all of my other phone used the light on the phone (charge light) to indicate missed calls or mail so you would not have too look at the screen to know, just a glance. If you are in a very noisy enviroment you would never know you missed a call with this phone. I have missed countless important phone calls only to find out latter from the people themselves.
this is one of manny issues with what I would rate a very poor quality device in function.
the idea, the design (aestetics)are heading in the right direction... i will never buy another treo.
I purchased a cheap nokia as a back up phone and it perfoms consideralbly better as a phone than the treo.

    Default Missed Calls

I found a good utility program called "Butler" at Handango.com. It is only about $12.00 and lets you set alerts for missed calls and voice mails to keep reminding you until answered. You can change the color of the LED (I set mine to steady red) until message is answered. It is a great program and should have been included on the Treo.
