    Default Musical Ringtones and compatibility

I want to download a musical ringtone from AOL Music Ringtone Information but need software that will let me download Musical Ringtones. I assume Musical Ringtones are different from MP2 and Polyphonic ringtones. I have Realplayer on my 650. Does anyone know of software that will let me download Musical Ringtones? And how do I download them if all I am given is a Download Code?

    Informative

The Palm Treo 650 is not among the supported phones. Why not get ringtone manager like mRing or Ringo and then use the attached file. This way, you can use and/or create your own ringtones.

    Chris,

I managed to get the trial version of mring on my device. I unzipped the Monday Night Football MP3 and tried to upload it to my palm and I got a message that it couldn't load it on the SD card. I have a card in and there is plenty of room on the card.

The error message I get when I try to upload the MP3 to my expansion card is:

Installation failed (could not create file on expansion card) (0x4009)

    Thoughts?

    Andy.

i've never been able to transfer mp3's using palm desktop. try a card reader to transfer the file or bluetooth or something like card export II to make your phone act like a card reader.

Those options will work. I have also been able to transfer mp3's using the "sync" feature on Windows Media Player.

Card reader is probably the best and most reliable option. Softick CardExport II has a trial, so that should get you started moving MP3's to your SD Card.

Default Need help with MRing Software

    Chris,

I managed to get the Monday Night Football (MNF) MP3 on my card but am having trouble using Mring to enable the MNF to ring for incoming calls. I went into Mring and brought up my contacts. Mring gives me the option to set individual contacts to the MNF ringer or catagories such as "Known Caller" or "Unknown Caller". I set all my categories to the MNF ringer but I still get the "normal ringer" that I have always had. I read the FAQ and Help on Mring but the closest thing to a solution I found was in the Help for Mring where they say to get rid of "Contacts" from the "Favorites" on the device and that will override the default ringer that I have set. First of all I couldn't find "Favorites" to get rid of "Contacts". That's the closes thing I found to a solution.

I am using the trial version of Mring but I don't think that matters.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Andy.

    BigDog,

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded a trial version of Ringo Pro and it worked!

I have a small problem though. When an incoming call comes in, my Monday Night Football theme plays but the default ringer plays at the same time. How do I get the default ringer shut off without shutting off all sound? I tried setting my default to "no sound" but that shuts everything off including my MNF theme ringer.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Default Default Ringer

You have to go to Preferences and then Sounds and set your default ringtones to "No Sound"
