System Tools or Repair My 650 Dies in its sleep!

Hi. I just got a used Treo 650 Cingular model. It has the latest firmware and everything seems to work fine except for one thing... it consistently dies in its sleep! After several minutes of non use, all of the keys become unresponsive and the screen is just black. The green light flashes as if the phone were still working, but that's not working either. The phone doesn't ring when someone calls and they end up in voice mail. This happens whether the phone is on or off, and whether there is a SIM card in or not.

Even pressing the reset doesn't help. The only way to recover from this is to remove and replace the battery.

I have already tried a zero (really hard) reset. The latest firmware is installed. There is no data and no 3rd party apps in the Treo, yet it still happens. Luckily the thing is still under warranty. Before I go that route, is there a quick fix? Has anyone seen this?

    Thanks in advance.

System Tools or Repair Treo 650 dies in sleep with phone on or off.

My Treo 650 dies in the middle of the night regardless whether my phone is turned on or off. The PDA functionality stops, buttons fail to work, etc., despite a fully charged battery etc.. All my firmware and software are up-to-date.

Do I need to return the phone? This is a relatively new phenomina. This did not occur when I aquired the phone. Now I have to reset the phone every morning over coffee.

If the problems continues even after a hard reset and you haven't modified the ROM at all, then I'd have to say it's a hardware problem.
