My security Icon is Gone! Its seems to exist tho!

Hello there everyone,
can someone help me here? I was trying to find my Security Icon in order to access my Security Settings on My Palm Treo 650 but the Icon is gone/ It has just disappeared!
I installed a program called warden then decided to uninstall it/delete it soon afterwards but i cant recall it being there earlier anyway.Previously i had tried teal and deleted that too.
When i look in the INFO list My Security File IS LISTED and still appears to be there and yet is 57kb not 19kb in size.The trouble is there is no way to access it or restore it to my Main Menu.Has it competely gone?Can i get it back?Surely it was nt deleted as it is a system file.Had it been overwritten by these previous programs or simply renamed?
I am simply befuddled.I would definitely ike to get it back.I daresay i could reinstall one of the previous programs however but im not that keen on them. I did nt actually properly initiate the warden one anyway.I want my palm SECURITY BACK:frown:.

I have looked on my treo under programs and see the security icon and when I look in the main menu info it shows 19K if it shows in the infor it is still installed. It might be corrupted or the file size may include somehow undeleted portions of the security programs you added on but deleted. I did a search on the ET forums for missing icons did not really come up with anything like your situation. What did you use to uninstall/delete the teal and the warden. Its possible that whatever you used di not completely uninstall the programs and remnants are in your registry somewhere and thats the difference in file size. You might try going to palm knowledge base and see if they have something I will try to check that out after suppoer is over. Good Luck ND I will be back on line later

I did some research on the palm site and I came up with a possibility from a knowledge base article number Solution ID: 26424. I have the following suggestion. Look in all the possible places where your security icon might be it may be that somehow it got moved from one screeen to another. So hit your house button to the left of the 5 way and cycle through all the screens and see if you see it somewhere. If you do you should be able to move it back from what I have read in the artcle number in this paragraph. Again good luck.

and a big thank you for your swift reply.I've just returned from work and have just read your posts.Well now, i cant seem to locate the Icon anywhere.
I simply deleted the Warden program but have just remembered that i didnt have the 'teal' program on this particular palm anyway.It was on my original Palm Tungsten 'e'.It was only the Warden program that was on my Palm Treo.I believe that it was this program that replaced my icon and when i deleted the one the other went too! The size of the program for the security program that went missing was 19k and 3x 19 = 57k so it may well have been backed up somehwere, i guess.As the Palm Security Program is an integral part of the Palm sofware i imagine it is somehow still there but still nonetheless, unlocatable(by me anyway).It should reside under 'prefs' but is sadly not there(maybe relocated) Ijust dont know.I will post again if i find an answer elsewhere but any help at all is very much appreciated.Thanks again.Hope to uncover something later.

Hi I searched around with filez to see if there is a place to create shortcut or icon but I did not find an option. You may need to save your stuff,do a hard reset, create a new user then move your info to the new user. (make sure the program you removed is not in backup or you will have the same problem.

Hard reset is the very last fix to try.

yes it sounds like maybe something is triplicated but its strange that you cant see it anywhere and it should be able to be deleted or its name changed. LKike polunker sayys you might try the hard reset or even if necessary a zero out reset but do the hard reset first.

Dear all,
Thanks you to all who kindly replied to me.I appreciate your help very much.
My wife finally helped me solve the problem.What we originally tried was to install and uninstall the Warden program but we still were still no nearer the right result.
Then my wife decided to tap the top right hand button which brings up the 'App' options.Under this there is the option, 'delete', beam, send, category, info, copy.
Just select delete.Click enter(center button).This brings up a selection of deletable programs.She just selected (highlighted) the Security program and pressed 'delete'.
The program was deleted. We went back into the main menu on the Palm Programs screen and Lo and behold there was the Original Palm Security Program back as before.This was titled Security too and shows a gold padlock!Thats was all there was to it.What the problem had amounted to was the fact that Warden must have left a residue program file called 'Security' which must have covered or hidden the Palm Security Software itself. Having finally gotten rid of the Covering 'Security' program allowed the Palm software to restore itself to normal.We did try re-installing the PRC program from backup but nothing seemed to result from just that singular action.
