please guys im new with the treo
please give me a step by step list of how to get new apps (games prgrms ringtones etc.) onto my treo 650 im brandnew so please be specific because i prolly wont understand if you are vague

It all depends on what programs you want, but its pretty much all the same. Download the palm desktop from palm.com so you can sync your treo with your computer.

Im sure you know how to download a file from the web, some good sites are

http://www.freeware-palm.com/
http://www.freewarepalm.com/

I use those for most of my programs, and of course theres ones that you can buy from palm.com

Once you have the file download, just double click on it, and it should go right to your palmone quick install. And once you sync the program(s) they should be on your treo.

For a newbie, I'd try and get recommendations before blindly searching those sites. There are some good apps there, but there's also a lot of crap.

The must haves that I got when I first ad my treo was TCPMP, filez, ptunes, mycheckbok, ledoff, p-expense, quiz wiz, due yesterday, ereader. All free. Except ptunes.

minitones if u want ringtones.

LJP and zdoomz for games.

But pretty much all my apps were from freewarepalm.com search there then maybe search handango freeware cause they have a lot of good free qualtiy stable apps as well.

They don't offer to much of the junk software on that site.

If you're loooking to get apps, ET.com has an area for free stuff, and a software store to demo and purchase apps.

i figured out how to get new apps from all of your posts

now, im curious as to how you get a music ringtone, from a modern artist onto the troe, such as a clip of a song, or what not...

how does this wor?k

minitones will do that for you.
It will let you choose a song from your SD card, and then you can crop a certain part of the song you want...great ringtone program.
