    Default New MMC card

Hi, I just bought new MMC card (2 Gb), but when I put in into my Treo 650, I can't seem to read the mp3. Do I need any setting for this new MMC card?

Did you place the MP3 into a folder labeled Audio? The Treo needs a folder set up labeled Audio.

Yes, I have a folder called Audio. I copied everything from my old MMC card to my new MMC card. But I found that, the new MMC wasn't even detected. Could be I bought the wrong MMC card? Is there different kind of MMC card?

It is certainly possible the card you bought may just no be fully compatible for any number of reasons. I have always had good luck with the SanDisk brand. You did buy an SD card, yes?

What card did you buy? Before loading the music, did you try the card in the Treo and was it recognized? If you can't get it to recognize the card then you can't even try to format it.

How about formatting the card in your reader and then see if the Treo recognizes it? All data will be wiped from the card.

I went to format it but it says "No card inserted". My card is MMC card, not SD. Because my old card is also MMC card. So I buy back MMC card.

When I use the cardreader to read this new MMC card, I can read and copy it.

MMC is Multi Media Card and an SD (Secure Digital) card is a type of MMC card. SD cards are all the same size and shape. It is a type of a "standard". If your card does not say SD that could be the problem.

Reread my earlier post. Try to format in the reader, but this will wipe your data. Back up all the files on your computer and format the card and then see if the Treo will recognize it. If it does not recognize the card you will not be able to use it in your Treo. Some brands just don't play nice. What brand did you buy?

My card is from MMC Mobile.

How do I know whether is it a SD card or not? I didn't see any SD there.

My card like exactly in this link, http://www.memoryc.com/flashmemoryca...alvoltage.html

I have formated the new MMC card already from card reader. But, when I insert in my treo, still seem not detected. It says "No card inserted" in "Card Info".

So I guess I bought wrong type of card. But how come I couldn't see any "SD" in my original workable MMC card. How do I know it is a "SD" card, so that I won't buy the wrong one again?

Here is what an SD card looks like.

Note that under the big 2.0GB is where the SD (tm) logo appears...

Plunker is correct that the 650 cannot use larger than a 2GB without some kind of a hack. It will also have trouble with cards labeled as SDHC (High Capacity), but I think those started at 4GB.

I did a quick search for MMC Mobile, but I did not find a site. Send a link to the card you bought and I will take a look.

Remember I mentioned that some brands just don't seem to work....Why did you replace the original card you had? Did it stop working?
