New to treo 650 territory
Hello there Treo 650 experts!
I am a proud new owner of a Treo 650. Only one problem - I don't know how to use it to its potential yet.
After reading through various FAQ sections on different websites and forums, I am now turning to you for some answers.
The volume on my Treo 650 was low so I went ahead and got the Volume Care software and that fixed that issue.
I am looking to download some mp3 ringtones for my Treo. Does treo support polyphonic ringtones?
What is the best software out there to do this? Do I need more than one software?
I would like to assign individual ringtones to different contacts.
Is Ringo Pro and Pocket Tunes the best combo?
Does anyone know of a really good Alarm Clock software? I tried Palmary Clock but was wondering if there is something better out there.
What's a good voice dialing software?
Like I said I am NEW here so feel free to suggest any must haves software/utilities/launchers.
Thanks,
Pratik

Welcome to Everything Treo. This forum is a good start to get the most of your Treo - also sign up for our e-News.

Check out the new Cingular Treo 650 1.15 Updater if you're a Cingular owner. That should offer some enhancements as well.

It supports Polyphonic and regular MP3's. It ships with all polyphonic ringtones.

Check out my review of Ringo Pro. There is also mRing, but I haven't used that yet. PocketTunes is a great program, but you don't need it to play MP3 ringtones.

There is an alarm clock in World Clock which ships with the Treo 650. Palmary Clock is an excellent app.
What's a good voice dialing software?
There are two and I can offer a recommendation either way. One is by VoiceSignal.

I'd suggest slowly adding stuff, do some trials and find a nice mix of applications that expands the use of your Treo -- while running stable.
Good luck. Stop back and post away if you have any questions.

Alarm Clock
Hi! Glad you are enjoying your Treo... it is a wonderful device, IMHO.
I have been using an app called Treo Alarm, which I really like. It can set multiple alarms, turn your phone (radio) on and off at specified times, and check weather conditions, as well as synchronize the time.

Thx!
Thx for replying Chris and Greeniis - Appreciate it!
Went to the Cingular store and go the updater last night. Awesome inporvement in sound clarity.
Just got done setting up a reminder on my Treo to purchase mRing and Treo Alarm.
Also, I am thinking about buying BackUpMan and Butler.
My notebook has an in-built card reader, so that should make transferring ringtones easy.
Are there any sites where I can download MP3/MIDI/polyphonic ringtones FREE ?!?

Ringtones
Try http://portal.treobits.com/index.php?ind=ringtones
They have a few tones.
I mostly use MP3's and RingoRro, but I have found some good "alert" type tones at treobits.
Have fun!
