New to Treo Family

This could be long....I got my 650 this week and I am overwhelmed with the things this device can do. I am a transplant from the Sony Clie family. I am in the Real Estate business...the features most important to me are email & internet access. I use Topproducer (Software) for contacts & calendar.

My questions are -

1. Is XpressMail & VersaMail good products?...Having trouble with setup of XpressMail. I keep getting a message "other mail client using this port".
2. How do I delete Cingular installed sofware that I do not want or need? Examples..quicktour, get good (what is this?),worldclock...etc.
3. Blazer - Is there a better/faster browser? Do I have to keep clearing my cache and cookies?
4. With Cingular unlimited data plan, does that include email, messages, and internet access for $40 bucks? Or, do I need to add additional services to my plan.
5. Palm Desktop - I had an old version of Palm Desktop. When I installed the Treo 650 software, it seem to become one and combine some of the programs, which causes some crashes.
6. My wife still uses the Clie..we operate off of one PC. Palm Desktop does not seem to recognize the 2 different devices. It treats them as one.
7. Also, where can I find a 2GB SD Card for a good price? Are there larger formats available?
8. What's up with the speaker on the Treo 650? Can not hear a thing unless using Bluetooth Headset.

I know this is long, but any help would be appreciated. A few questions of many to come.

First off welcome to the treo.....and first and foremost be patient. It takes some time getting it all set up right and to your likings....

Now for your questions....
1. I don't like either.....xpress is a client through cingular and versamail is buggy....
Try an app called snappermail....works really well and easy to set up.

2. You cannot delete the cingular apps unless you install a custom ROM which is not
for the weak of heart. You could easily turn your treo to a paperweight in no time.
You can however try a free app called ofuscate. It allows you to hide apps you do
not want to see.

3. There are other browsers...xiino is faster but not as a pretty of an UI. Works great
though...give it a try there is a trail of it.....

4. THe new unlimited does include emails and browsing and messages I believe
unless it stipulates what the sms limit is. I believe it is included now. You might
want to check the cingular website which will explain it all.

5. You might want to uninstall the desktop all together then reinstall the new
version and re sync to get just the new treo apps on the device.

6. I am not sure about using it for two devices. I think there is a way but I am not
familiar with it...maybe a ggogle search could get that answer...sorry.

7. I don't think anything bigger would work with the treo I believe 2gig is the
biggest card the device will recognize....try newegg.com or pricewatch.com
they will tell you the cheapest prices aroun d the net.

8. You may have an older treo Firmware/Software but even in this case there is an
amazing app called VolumeCare.. you can adjust everything on the treo through
this app including backspeaker mic headset earpice and speaker I know its
terrrible you have to pay for a program to make the treo what you want but
It is the treos only downfall I see.....

Hope this answers most of your questions and helps a bit....good luck getting ti how you want it and hopefully you won't get turned off of the device through troubles.....Remember when installing apps try to do one ata time and then hotsync. Yopu will find that some apps will not "play nice" with other apps....
some conflicts occur causing resets.....be paient.....
