Default new treo 650 by cingular!!!!

Hello, yes I am a newbie...

Let me introduce myself. Brian from Richmond, Virginia.

I finally broke down and bought myself a new TREO 650 from Cingular. Ive been wanting one for the longest time, but always heard it was a bit too complicated for the everyday phone. But after my best friend having one, I couldnt wait any longer!!

Okay... now my questions... what should be the FIRST few accessories I purchase?? Headset, extra memory card?? WHAT?? Im fresh to this, so I have NO CLUE!

Also, is it a really complicated phone to figure out... I hate reading manuals... you know it must be a man thing!!

    Help this newbie out!!!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey Brian-
Welcome to Everything Treo and congrats on your new Treo 650! In no time, you'll be a Treo pro. The Palm OS is powerful, yet simple to learn. If you get stuck, just ask here or do a search and you're sure to find an answer.

With regards to accessories, I personally loved the day I started using a Bluetooth headset. For me, that's my #1 add on accessory. No more wires or dragging my phone out the car with me! If it's a shiny new Treo, then of course you'll want to protect your smartphone with a case -- some people opt for a screen protector -- some despise them. It's a matter of personal preference.

I wouldn't load up on software right away, but experiment with popular titles. There is an essential software thread where folks recommend titles. Check the knowledgebase for this article on good free software for the Treo.

Enjoy it and tell your friend about Everything Treo! Thanks for joining!

Bluetooth is pretty much trial and error with the Treo. Here's a thread from the Bluetooth section of the forum which should answer most of your questions.

It should be new if you bought it new. There is a code that you can type in and it will show minutes used on the phone...can't remember code it was posted here somewhere a couple of days ago.

If it is important start a new thread with your question and I bet you get help right away.

    Welcome to the treo family.

I haven't used the Motorola, but here's a Motorola H700 review by one of our readers. The thread referenced by KDallen is a great and well travelled thread on headsets.

    Also, Chris...

I have heard alot of people talking about the volume being low on the Treo 650. I was wondering whats the inside scoop on that and if there is anyway to make the volume louder or what not??

It was never a major issue for me. VolumeCare (see review) solves that problem and is consistently among Best Sellers when it comes to Treo software.
