New Treo 650 Owner
I just bought my new TREO 650 from Verizon Wireless.
I was told that the data package was mandatory because of the promotional price (I got it for $299). The data package runs $45 a month, and at first I was a little hesitent, but man I have to say I'm rather impressed. This is my third PDA (PalmIII Xe, Sony Clie PEG-NR0, TREO 650). These things have come a long way. The processer is fast and internet connection speeds blow away a computer + conventional modem with a phone line. I was surprised that Verizon did not stick it's "Get It Now" feature/program on the TREO to custumize ringers and wallpaper etc. After a little searching on the web I found the mRing application which lets you add a specific MP3 to any contact. So far I have added a 1GB SD card (I did not realize that 2GB cards were available in SD format. Overall I'm pleasently surprised with my purchase, although I wish the camera had more megapixels.

Congratulations and welcome not only to the Treo 650 club, but to Everything Treo. That's usually the deal with the promo price - we sell the Treo 650 at$199 w/ Verizon service and it too requires the data package. It is a bit steep, you'll appreciate having access to the web and email at all times.

You've found a feature that sets the Treo apart from regular phones. No more buying ringtones - just download any of your MP3's to your SD card and you're in business.

The feeling is mutual. Always nice to get a new member.
