Default New Treo 650 question

I have new 650 and would like some advice on loading and taking off programs.
I want to add a backup program, a removal program, new e-mail, and a new Calendar (Agendus). My question is can I remove the orginal calendar, and e-mail (VersaMail)? If so how should I do it?

Thanks.....

Hello, welcome and congratulations on getting your new 650. You sound as if you've already done some research and know the direction in which you want to head. A good backup program is an excellent start. Some popular ones are BackupBuddy and BackupMan. You can search for others, as well. As for an uninstaller program, Uninstall Manager is pretty popular, as is Zlauncher, which I use, which has an excellent file manager in it.

Agendus is a pretty powerful app, as well. I use it, too.

As for removing the calendar and VersaMail...these are bundled Palm apps, stored directly in the ROM. You can't remove these apps, unless you were to install a custom ROM. It was a pretty involved process which seems to have gotten somewhat easier lately, according to a discussion on another forum. You can read about it here.

Hope this helps!

Great plan on the back up program . . The Calendar and Versamail is in the ROM and can't be removed without customizing the ROM. Not an easy thing to do, but it can be done. For a Free remover, you might want to check out FileZ. I personally use zLauncher which replaced fileZ on my Treo, but fileZ is a great freeware program for moving and deleting files.

Great info, Thanks, I'll start loading a few apps and let you know how it goes. I love this site as it provides super information. I know if I really botch it up you all will help me get it right again.

For a free uninstaller, get Destaller Lite. Link here. Just download from the link that says "Download free lite version click here" in the top right, underneath "To Purchase click here"
