Default new user - snappermail

I am a new user, just had it 3 days. I read about snappermail and put it on my treo in hopes of accessing my pop3 account that we use at my work. I am using the trial version of snappermail and entered the email account, but it still errors out on accessing the page. I am an Alltel customer, if that makes any difference. Does any body have any ideas to send me in the right direction? I would appreciate any help that any body can give me!

What's the error you are receiving. Snappermail is most definitely a great email app for POP3 mail.

Idon't have the exact wording, but it was unable to attach to mail server. I am an Alltel customer and we have an internal mail server that runs on Linux. It has connected once, received two of the emails but was unable to send. I have tried the Versamail and had the same outcome. Don't know which way to head with it. I do appreciate any help you can give me!

Honestly, your best bet for this type of question would be over at Snapper's Yahoo support site. Lots of good info specific to SM.

i had the same problem. mine was solved by retyping my domain name, password, username, etc. on each screen and saving it all. it ultimately worked, once again proving that most of the time it's operator error....

Here's a helpful link for setting up your outbound SMTP. And this page was posted by MillerHiFi and it's great for various ISP configurations of SnapperMail and VersaMail.

Well I am still trying to get this resolved, trying all of the great ideas that you have sent me, but still not working completely. I did receive a free trial of Inbox to go with my Documents to Go that came with the phone, has anybody tried that? Is it a good option?

I wouldn't bother w/inbox to go. Did you go over to Snapper's Yahoo support site??
I bet that it has something to do with your Linux server.

I did some checking into my company email, just like y'all instructed me to. That is where the problem was. We have three different ways into our system, fiber, dsl and cable, and therefore three dns entries. Our dsl is down, therefore our dns entrie for that was causing a timeout. So if anybody else has problems where it works sometimes and doesn't others...that might be a case!
Again it works with both Versamail and Snapper...probably will stick with Snapper!

I've always used Versamail, but have wanted to try one of the others. Can somebody tell me the advantages to Snapper or Chatter vs. Versamail?
