newb problems

i am beginning to understand the treo 650 i recently got, slowy. when i open blazer, phone, or camera the buttoms seem to stop working. the phone isnt frozen because i can use the touch pad but none of the keys work, so im stuck in that app. please give some advice.

I am not exactly sure what the question/problem is, but I will take a stab.

When you say none of the keys work, what do you expect them to be doing? For example, in the phone screen, you don't need the letter keys, but the numerical keys will work. The "darkened" group of keys are the numbers and you can use them to dial a phone number, but none of the letters will work for the keypad. However, the enter key will work if the cursor is on the contacts button or the call log and the enter key will begin a dial after you have entered numbers.

In Blazer, the letter/number keys will work if you are in a "typable" field such as entering a url in the search bar or entering information into a Google search box.

It really depends on what you are doing that decides what keys work and what doesn't.

When you say"stuck in that app", you should be able to press another app key to move from app to app no mater what app you are in. An example, if you are in the phone screen and press the email button, you should be taken to the email app.

If you bought this phone used, someone may have installed some kind of a third party app that takes over key control.

Post what apps you have, if bought new or used and who your service provider is if this hasn't answered your question.

thats exactly it. i am stuck in blazer. i try pressing the home key, menu key, 5 way key, email, messages but none of them work. none of the buttons do anything.

i did buy it used and i dont see any apps besides what cingular has installed on it.

Sometimes my treo takes a minute to disconnect from blazer. Do you eventually get out of blazer or do you have to reboot? (soft reset)

well it stays in blazer because the keys dont work. i tried soft and hard reset but it didnt fix anything. im going to perform a zero out reset when i get a hot sync cable.
