Newbie Needs Help - Text Messaging

I bought an Unlocked Cingular GSM from ebay as im going to Australia for a year. Got the phone in. Bought a Rogers SIM card in Saskatchewan, Canada. Bought $10 prepaid to test it out as i have a month to go until i leave. I can call out, receive calls, receive texts, but i cant send texts. Keep getting (Error 4027). Tried the SIm card in another phone and it worked...tried his SIM in my phone and it didnt work either. Was on the phone with Rogers tech support for over and hour and nothing. Can anybody help me out here. I want to get this working right before i leave.

Message Center Number is correct...does it have something to do with SIM Services Unavailable when i select it from the menu?

Or that the software still has CNG at the end of it instead of the ROW ive read about online that unlocked phones should have?

I phoned cingular and got the Subsidy unlock code, tells me "Locked: The SIM lock has NOT been removed from this phone" Did i get the wrong code?

It sounds like you need an unlock code from Cingular. Call them up and explain the situation like you did here. I'm on Sprint (CDMA) so I can't help you much beyond that.
