Newbie Treo 650 Queries
Hi there,
New to this forum, and the Treo 650 - was given a hand-me-down Treo 650 from work, when we moved to Blackberrys.
I want this for my wife, who works mostly from home and it not a technical person by any means. I'm a Windows Mobile user (Vario III), so have some experience, but the Treo is a different beast from Windows Mobile 6.
Main Queries so far :-
1. Can you choose which Contacts and Calanders in Outlook the Treo syncs with. We have 2 calanders and 3 sets of contacts on Outlook - the Treo seems to have synced with the main ones, and there was no option to select which data was used.
2. How can you share a 3G GPRS connection by Bluetooth. This is to allow her laptop (Win XP) to be able to connect to the internet while on a train etc. (She's moving to a UK T-Mobile W&W Tariff).
3. Is there any way of downloading multiple POP boxes into one "mail file" on the Treo, as opposed to having different accounts?
4. Finally, as an alternative to dowloading mail in two places (Home PC & Treo) POP boxes, is there a way of syncing a Treo with Outlook (Mail, Contacts & Calander) via a GPRS connection ? (Using a static IP address, or DynDNS)
Any help appreciated !

1. I think that you will sync all of the contacts if you sync any. Have you thought about setting up different users in windows then syncing that way? (might work)
2. Your treo should work as a modem but I have never set one up. You might do a search here to find the info.
3. Not with versamail...I would think your provider (s) might be able to forward mail to one account.
4. I think that is possible but syncing outlook with versamail caused major reset problems with me. Maybe Chattermail or another third party app. You might check out there web site for that info or another search here.
Sorry for the lack of help..I just jumped in since nobody else responded to your post.

As for the Internet thing invented by Al Gord and for use with your laptop, take a look at PDANet - it works very well on the 650. Ben
