Office files to Treo
Hello all,
My first time here. I am a very light user, mostly relying on my Treo to keep me in Sync with my work PC Outlook calendar, in addition to using it as a phone. I only sync using the cable and have only once or twice used the e-mail feature.
My question is about getting Word and Excel files onto my handheld for viewing. How is this done? I would like to import/upload a couple of manuals and budgets to have along.

If you have your Treo Install CD, you should find Documents to go on it. Depending on the version of Docs to go, it gives you the ability to view/edit word/excel/powerpoint/ and view .pdf files. Also there is a very good pdf veiwer that is freeware called Palm pdf that I believe can be found here in the free software section.

If you don't have one, I highly recomend getting an SD card for storage of documents. You can transfer the documents a few different ways: you could transfer them to your card via hotsync (could be slow, depending on file size), you could use a card reader (built-in on some newer computers; external ones as cheap as $5), or you could look at an app like Card Export II, which allows your computer to see your Treo as an external drive, allowing you to manipulate files.

The correct way once DTG is installed is to use its desktop sync to place the files on the Treo; however, if you have tons of them, then a card reader or SAG or another solution should be considered. The card reader is fastest and once you are set up with time to spare, then sync those files back to the desktop via DTG's file list. Ben
