Once you get your Treo?
Hey Guys,
Was curious as to what the first steps would be once you get your Treo. I've read that you have to format you SD card too??? And do you NEED a SD reader?
Thanks.

You can format you card from the phone, and you can get pictures and music to your card from the Palm Desktop software, I've never transfered movies, but I assume you can do that too. I don't think you need a card reader.

I bought the cheapest card from Radio shack I could find. (256) The card would not format for me.. but it didn't need to be formatted it worked right out of the package.
I probably should have gotten a larger card but at this time I just listen to audio books not movies or music. Once you have your card or before download "filez" it is free. This program lets you move and delete files from your card and phone. It is a MUST have with a card unless you want to buy a card reader.

Put on a screen protector! Any one of those film overlays that hold themselves on with simple friction. I didn't even take mine out of the box without having a screen protector ready to slap on.

I've never had to format my SD cards. They just worked.
An SD card reader or software like Missing Sync (for Mac) or Softick Card Export II allows you to drag and drop files to your Treo's SD Card.
