    Default .pdb vs pdf

ok, so I've got a doc. I have it in .pdb and pdf. Which one is better?

I am initially leaning towards the pdf because she, (treo650), already came with Acrobat Reader for PalmOs.

I guess what I'm really trying to ask is there any reason why I should seek out some kind .pdb reader instead of using Adobe?

PDF's usually take up more space. What's the file size difference.

Didn't she (your Treo) come with Docs To Go? That'll read your .pdb file (if its text) and the current version also reads .pdf's (not that you need the latter).

The pdb could be any one of several Palm OS doc reader formats. You'd need an app that can read the specific format.

The .pdb could be in a few different formats I believe. The most likely one is Palm Doc format and some others are iSilo, eReader, MobiPocket, or Acrobat converted pdf to pdb. The .pdf file you have cannot be read directly by Acrobat Reader. It can be read by Documents To Go 8 and PalmPDF.

Docs to Go doesn't either doesn't recognize the .pdb or just doesn't see them. I can't tell which it is. But either way I don't see how to us Docs to Go for .pdb.

As far as Adobe Reader for Palm OS, it really messes with the files. It put the pages out of order and combined paragraphs from other pages. It was really weird.

DTG will only read a .pdb file if it's a text file. Otherwise, as Kreth said, you'll have to use the parent app.
If you're not happy with your current Acrobat reader, DTG (current version) may do better.

You might want to grab a free file explorer if you don't have one already. Filez and FileProg are both good. Then you can look at the creator id, that might give you an idea which app is the lucky parent...

That seems like a reasonable idea. I've read some good things about Filez. I will check it out. Thanks.
