Phone keeps turning off by itself
Hi everyone,
I bot a Treo 650 in February 2006 and things have been relative smooth last a week ago...The phone keeps logging off by itself and I have no idea why it's doing that every few minutes. Sometimes I would even turn it on and immediately it will turn itself off again!!!!
I have not installed any third party applications. I sent an email to Palm and they said I must have some third party applications....they recommended doing a hard reset, which I did, but the problem persists.
Any ideas?

Can you explain what you mean by "logging off"? Is the phone radio turning off, or are you talking about the screen?

Phone keeps turning off
The phone would just turn off by itself. I would look at the Treo and it would indicate "Phone off" so I have to hit the Voicemail tab to turn it on. It would then turn off after a while (sometimes a few minutes, sometimes a few hours, and sometimes right after I tried to turn it on). So all my calls are going into voicemail instead being picked up by me.

Thanks! I just inserted a piece of paper (cut out some business card!). Will let you know if it works!

Ah, now I understand. The piece of paper trick will work. If your Treo is Cingular, they offer a new sim tray that will solve this problem.

Hello kitty,
This is Kevin from Palm. Indeed, if as Christopher suggests, yours is a Cingular Treo: "Cingular Wireless Treo 650 SIM tray causes radio to turn off unexpectedly". You'll find a description and info on how to obtain a replacement there.
Sincerely
Kevin

Thanks a bunch. Phone hasn't turned off at all after I inserted the piece of paper!
Oh and I just called Palm to order the new SIM tray. Thanks again.

Kevin,
I have a problem too with synching multiples PDAs. I posted a help thread today. Think you can take a look too?
