my phone sometimes hangs and sometimes resets by itself, what is the problem with this?

I am finding this to be a problem too, but not in phone mode. It usually happens when I use a third party application I have downloaded. I think that the more stuff you have on the treo the more you run into problems. Even if you store applications on the storage card vs. the main memory there are some files that have to be installed on the main memory in order to read the storage card. I might do a hard reset and start off from scratch, that goes with deleting the palm desktop too. Remember you need to uninstall that to get rid of your backup data.

There are far too many combination of things that could cause this.....

Usually its thrid party apps conflicting with either other third party apps or Palm installed apps.....

Sometimes apps that do the same thing can cause this....Other apps that are set up to autonmatically update can cause this....
I had this problem when I first got my phone but I added about 20 apps in the first two syncs.....

I had to strip the palm down and then start one app at a time and test after each install.......

Maybe you need to do what I did.....
