Playing a simple WAV file ...
Hi all,
Can anyone advise me of a good app that I can install to play WAV files?
Before you tell me about things that play music files ...Here's why I ask:
I use a VoIP solution for my home phone. This service has a great feature in that each time someone leaves you a voicemail it is also emailed to you as an attached .WAV file. Since I use ChatterEmail on my Treo 650 and Fastmail for my IMPAT service these voicemails come to me in near real time (push without a crackberry!).
BUT!!!!
I can't open and play the WAV file. The only app I get to choose from is "Sounds" ??? this gem only let's me store it as a system sound and even then does not play it.
Can anyone help me out with a simple app that will play the WAV file?
Cheers

Check your home voicemail with push email!

That's very cool. You have to let me know if this ends up working. I have VOIP for home phone (might change now that Verizon has FIOS), but never set up the voicemail. I might rethink that if I could do this.

Nope won't work.
Hi Chris,
wish you were right. tried it already before buggin you all.
This is aimed at the iPod wanabee. It won't even playa file that it not located in it's own folder structure. Even when I copied the file in there by hand it simply ignored all but MP3 files.
It also does not show up as a choice when I open a WAV file .. I still get "Sounds" as my only choice. Of course if I had any doc with my Treo worth a fig I might know more about how it "works".
Anyway, I need something that will just play a WAV file when it is clicked.
Please save me from the Evil Empire (they have teh staggering WAV challenge licked, as well as multi-tasking, uptime > 2 hours, cradles that work .. oops on the soapbox again ... it is 11pm here :D ).
Cheers

The plot thickens ...
I've tried several other options including DioPlayer (free and new) ... none can play the attached WAV file.
The WAV I am trying to play is a GSM610, Mono, 8.000 kHz format 13.00kbits/sec data rate.
Someone I've spoken to told be that (wait for it) Palm devices cannot play all formats of supported media files ... Anyone heard of this or can shed more light on the subject?
Attention palm: it SHOULD NOT be this hard!
Cheers
