Default playing mp3 and movie files

Hello everyone. I just got my treo 650 yesterday. I couldn't put it down for 2 hours literally, it was that hot. However, I had a problem which troubles me badly. It doesn't recognize any movie, mp3 files on my kingston. It has been driving me crazy since I've been trying all I could to try to solve it. I've installed FileZ and it shows the files I manually placed under the laucher folder. Card info also shows the files are there, but it's all blank under the Card option. I also tried to use the Palmdesktop software to transfer files to the sd card while syncing. Though taking forever, it has the same result. The problem has given me deep trouble and I almost gave up. If anyone has any thought on this as I'm sure many of you here are experts of treo, please help me.
Thanks in advance.

Default files

Hello dentister,

This is Kevin from palmOne. When you look at your card via FileZ, are there folders for AUDIO and DCIM? In order to be recognized by your handheld, most files need to be in a specific location on the expansion card. If the files are in the wrong location, your handheld may not be able to find them, and they won't appear on the handheld. Try the palmOne Knowledge Library article "Using a USB SD/MMC card reader to transfer files to an expansion card' and this will be explained further. You may just need to create the folders on the card and move the appropriate files into them.
Hope that helps.

Sincerely
Kevin

Thank you Kevin.
With your help, I solved the problem but it's taking forever to sync after I moved files from pc to the card. It's seems like the pc software is trying to copy all the media files on the card from treo to the PC. Does that make sense?

Under the right circumstances, yes. Because you mentioned you had video files (and perhaps photos, as well) on the card, my best guess is that those files are being synced over to your PC for the first time. Those files can be quite large and can take some time to sync.

Sincerely
Kevin
