Possibly a way to make your own MP3 Ringtones - Treo Forums

I have a lot of songs, and obviously you don't want to load the whole thing as a ring tone.

I found a program called MPtrim which takes an mp3 and trims it to what ever you want, then saves it as an mp3.

Now,

I've been playing with this, for only a few minutes but have been able to create a nice MP3 for a ringtone, (I just need the ringtone program here that is available here for sale).

I want to post the example but this BBS won't let me upload an MP3 attachment.

COULD THE SYSOP ENABLE ME TO POST THE ZIP AND MP3 and I will post asap.

I think this could be the total fix for making your own ringtones as MP3 files instead of downloading and paying for them.

sugguest you purchase LIGHT WAV PRO. It is well worth it.

Some of the features are MP3 trim...video ringers.plays gif pictures...and full screen caller id photo NO MORE THUMBNAIL PICTURES..cover ups where it will play a sound so it sounds like you are busy...no caller id blocker..even ringtones for your sms

I have just upgraded to pro so i have a little more to learn but it is a great program for MP3 ringtones as well as other things

Ok, I've played with the software for a day now and have about 1 dozen MP3 files made. I take songs that I like find an appropriate point in the song and cut about 20-30 seconds out of it for the ringtone. The files are about 300-500K right. This may seem like a lot. but I have them saved as high bitrate files and the 30 seconds issue is a lot of music.

I am thinking, if it is this easy to do, we should have an area to post our MP3 files that we make ourselves to swap and evaluate.

I suppose if the memory becomes an issue, I can lower the bitrate on these. Right now, it is stereo high bit rate that are very clear and effective.

I posted this link, only for a few days, then I will delete the file. It's my biz website and I can't leave it on there. Your all welcome to check out and use this file on your phone, and discuss it here on the thread. Oh, and the editing program is FREEWARE OPEN SOURCE !
