    Default Problem with initial set up

    I bought my Palm Treo off of ebay and did not get the software disk. (I had a Tungsten E). When I get all set up to Hot Sync to my new device I get a message that says windows could no load the installer for 78126C0-4190-11D4-B5C2. i CANNOT INSERT THE pALM DISCK BECAUSE i DO NOT HAVE IT.

    Sounds like you need to upgrade your Palm Desktop software - that's the problem. Visit this page on Palm's site and enter information regarding your model Treo/wireless carrier. You'll want to read this page on upgrading from a previous Palm device.

    This should get you going in the right direction. Let us know how you make out.

    Hi shellmaker:

    Welcome to ET. Be very careful trying to load software or even trying to sync the treo with software or the Palm Desktop from older units. They are not usually compatible.

    You might try visiting the Palm site and looking for the software for your device and provider. They have a lot listed there...

    Default Palm Treo 650 Software Installation CD for win & mac!!!

    I also purchased my Treo 650 from eBay (I am very pleased with it). I also ordered a Treo 650 instalition disk. It makes things so much easyer. Several eBayers sell them depending on your carrier. I have a unbranded unlocked and ordered mine from:
