Question about 650/outlook sync

I purchased the treo 650 for verizon used from a friend and they didnt have the cd that came with it. I recently downloaded the palm desktop software from palm website and proceeded to tattempt to sync my phone with the computer today. My contacts and calendar transferred into outlook, but i made a change in outlook then synced again, but the calendar on the phone didnt show the addition. Also, i am not turning internet on my phone on, but would like news and also my email in outlook to transfer to the phone when i sync it, just so i have it to read, but not to email from the treo. How can i set this up? Thanks.

In palm desktop at the top is a hotsync button menu, click on custom.
Look through your options. It can be set for the pc to override the palm or the palm to override the pc, or to sync both devices together. Mine seems to default to the sync mode but maybe yours is different.

At the palm site you can download the manual for your phone/carrier and it has alot of helpful directions to help with e-mail.

I solved alot or I should say learned alot about my problems between the manual and this board.

I just checked my computer and found that my computer was not updating my calendar. I checked the palm site changed settings and nothing.

Panic!!

How stupid, I was looking at the calendar in Palm desktop and not my outlook program. I feel so stupid..........
