In other words, ringtones are heard on the receiving phone, and call tones are heard on the originating phone (if purchased/assigned etc.).

LONG, - yes, I too have sprint & this was exactly what I was wondering about..... thank you very much for this information (now I have to figure out how to get around that cost )[/quote]

Three more bits: last night I bought (rented) another call tone and yes there is a way to make it the default calltone for all incoming calls. I'm assuming if you set this, you could also have other call tones for selected numbers.

Also, when I tested the call tone after purchase by using my wife's phone to call my phone, it sounded like crap compared to the preview on the website. Dunno what this means since previously purchased call tones had fine quality.

Lastly, as to the cost: it is $2.50 for 90 days. Sprint notifies you about a week before the rental is up. Personally I don't sweat small costs like this but I know other people may and we're all different!

    Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the additional info... I have researched this further & found what you said about the time frame & cost to be accurate.... WHICH I THINK SUCKS....YOU PAY FOR IT, YOU SHOULD OWN IT....NOT 'RENT IT' FOR 90 DAYS...... - when i find a way around this, i will share it with you....

The phone does not control the call back ringtone. The ringing or calling tones is on the providers network, so all of their customers can have ths service. ..Kind of like three way calling.

My son has this on his phone and it sounds like cr-p. A friend from another area (same provider sprint) has it, an it works differently than in are area. His has a recording telling you this is a music....call back tone.

that's weak, & if my option, i choose no.... but my friend who came by who showed me this initially sounded perfect.... so if i can get that, i'm in...but not if i have to renew every 90 days... and not if it sounds like crap.

first question; are they mp3s or another format such as acc?

and to benjie's comment- i think he'll be wanting a slice of the pie i had earlier. but as far as i'm aware the ringback, as foodybat points out, is a carrier issue, not a phone issue and so excellent as minitones is; it can't do that for you.

or is there more pie for me??
