I just got off the phone with Cingular and I'm more confused. So I thought I'd pose some of my questions to you Treo 650 geniuses who have Cingular service and maybe I can find an answer.

1. Do certain programs (Verichat, Directory Assistant, Google Maps, etc) pull from Data plan or text messaging plan?

2. If I use my Treo as my modem does that pull from the Data plan or is it something entirely different?

3. When I check my email does that pull from the Data plan or Text plan?

4. Has anyone use the Telenav and does it work well? I was hoping to use it like a GPS system.

I'm not sure why they make all this so confusing. Thanks for the help.

I don't use Cingular and I've never been accused of being a genius, but I'll see if I can't help some. The programs you mention utilize your data connection, though I believe Verichat can be run via SMS (maybe a Verichat user can jump in here).

Using PDANet or USBModem will pull from your data plan.

Can't help you here, never used it. I'm sure someone who has can jump in here. If not, I've TomTom seems to be very popular. Here's a review Chris did.

Verichat can use either SMS or data; you choose. And you are able to change this at will.
