    Default Radiation

Just wondering if you guys use any anti-radiation protector in your 650. I just thought about that recently. Last time, I use this kind of protector when I use a normal handphone. Does the anti-radiation protector works the same for treo 650?

    Yep.

I use a tinfoil hat smothered with snake oil.

    Doesn't work.

There have been sooo many studies about radiation and one group says it is a problem and another group says it is not a problem. Problem or not, no one has ever found anyone dead with cell phone radiation damage. Last week or so a research group located in...stated it could cause...in young children.

If this is a concern and it should be, then take a look at a Bluetooth headset.

I gave up on the snake oil, it did not work.

    How true, how true.

There is a great deal of misunderstanding about radiation.

Electromagnetic radiation below a certain frequency (way higher than cellphones and actually just around ultraviolet) has insufficient energy to cause the sorts of damage that people associate with magic-moonbeam, Sellafield, Christmas Island type radiation. Radio frequency radiation is non-ionising radiation and so has only one confirmed effect; heating. It makes things warmer. Even then, at the power levels associated with cellphones the heating effects are small and will be swamped by the increase in temperature caused by walking up some stairs.

In short, don't worry about it until there are confirmed, repeated and peer-reviewed reports saying that exposure is hazardous.

If you are really that worried about it, don't buy a cellphone, watch TV, listen to the radio or even go out in the sunshine.

Cr-p, you guys beat me to the tin foil hat...Oh! well!

Just curious about the protector mentioned above, do you have a link to a site that has info on it. I agree with the guys that the phones are safe but would like to read up on your protector device.

This is kind of like the myth with cell phones causing gas stations to blow up. The tests I have seen are that static electricity from your clothes charging by getting in and out of the car cause the spark.

You mean using my bluetooth headset will expose to more radiation?

No, Bluetooth operates at a much lower level and results in a lower level of exposure. Ben

I see. But any problem if I keep connect my bluetooth headset all the time? I have it clip on the shirt all the time.

My Bluetooth headset is on 8 to 10 hours a day and never off the ear. My brain is still functioning and nothing too scrambled yet. I will not worry about it until both sides agree or some study provides conclusive evidence. Even those studies that scream about problems have yet to point to anything that stands a close look.

Ben are you sure. Look into the mirror every once in awhile to see if anything is growing around your ear...or post a pic and we will determine if you are sane or not.
